Designed and Produced with Engineering and Finishing advancements, CompStar connecting rods have what it takes to make your engine build trouble free and your finished product reliable. Produced from heat treated and stress relieved 4340 material, CompStar rods are fully machined with a shot blasted Stress Riser free surface. Every detail of this highly stressed component has been carefully analyzed to maximize repeatability and dependability.
Features:
· PARTING SURFACE EDGE CHAMFERED - Normally done by the engine builder to prevent scraping material from the backside of the bearing insert during installation of the bearing into the rod.
· BEARING TAB SLOT FREE OF BURRS
· PIN BUSHING CHAMFERED BEFORE HONING
· ARP 2000 SERIES BOLTS - Upgrade from the typical 8740 material used in most rods of this type. Use of this bolt increases clamping force between the rod and cap by approximately 2000
psi.
· RE-TORQUE DURING MANUFACTURING - Assures that the rod will still be round when you install it in an engine.
· LESS PREP TIME - Ready for assembly right out of the box.
· SUPERIOR QUALITY CONTROL - Tolerance is less than .0002" maximum out of round, taper, hourglass, or barrel shape. The bearing housing surface finish typically has an RA of 9-13.
